ABOUT the Creator
Bre Stephens is an undergraduate in Art History who has been studying the field for over 5 years. She started studying general art history in 2007, a year before she began her official training at university. She attended Central New Mexico Community College from August 2008-August 2009; transferred to the University of New Mexico in August 2009, where she is a double major in Art History and Classical Studies, as well as an Honor's Department student; and currently is on exchange at California State University - San Bernardino.
During her years of study, both independently and on the collegiate level, Bre has demonstrated a love and interest in Ancient Art: specifically Ancient Roman Art, with a focus on Augustan Age Art. She has even lectured, on the collegiate level, in three of her past classes - twice in one class alone; all were on the Roman topic.
In her past studies, she has concentrated on Roman studies and the Classical Tradition. Thus, she has extensive experience and exposure to Roman and Greek history, literature, philosophy, and art. To complement her studies, she has also had the fortune of studying Egyptian religion and art, Mycenaean and Minoan civilization and art, and Mesopotamian society and art. Some of her past research papers and articles for academia have revolved around Roman history and its influences on Western societies (such as America), Homer's The Illiad and Virgil's work on The Aeneid and Georgics, as well as contemporary (or secondary source) materials such as topics on Augustus (the Emperor) and the Res Augustae.
Bre will graduate from the University of New Mexico in June of 2013, with a Bachelor's degree in both Art History and Classical Studies, as an honor's student. She plans to proceed with her education in order to earn her Master's degree, as well as a PhD degrees - all-the-while, teaching Art History on the collegiate level.
